Frequently Asked Questions
At White Birch Design, we believe the more informed a client is, the better the experience and result are!
Q: What should I look for in a contractor?
A: There are several things to look for. Make sure they are licensed and insured, check if they have an established reputation, and ask for previous customer referrals. Do you feel comfortable with them? Note the communication habits when you first reach out, as that will predict future communications throughout your project.
Q: Do I ignore trends or follow them?
A: Use them for inspiration but ultimately, go with what feels right to you. Remember, you don’t have to go all-in on trends. Sprinkling in a touch of something new can add a fresh and modern feeling without fully embracing the latest trends.
Q: What size is best for a kitchen island?
A: Generally speaking, we recommend 24″ of linear space per seat. If you want seating at your island, you’ll want anywhere from 8”-12” of overhang.
Q: Is a beverage station right for my kitchen?
A: Space is always at a premium in your kitchen so consider how often you’ll use your beverage station. From coffee to cocktails to rehydration, there’s more than one way to build a beverage station! If you love to entertain, a built-in beverage station can serve as the perfect place to craft your signature cocktail.
